Our client, based in central London (EC1) is looking for an experienced Print Finishing Operative to strengthen their team on a permanent basis. You must have experience working with digital print and competent with Lamination, Stitching, Perfect Binding and Guillotining.

Purpose of Job: To support the goals of their Finishing Department and help to achieve business targets, supporting the operations involved in print finishing to enable the Finishing Department to meet the planned schedules and customer specifications and expectations.

Responsibilities:

• To gain a full knowledge of the range of print finishing equipment operated by the department – to specifically be able to set, operate and maintain Polar Guillotines, polar guillotines, Duplo booklet makers, Horizon binders and komfi and foliant laminators
• To be able to operate a PC and to be able to understand the company’s management information systems in regards to job bags, delivery systems etc.
• Undertake support tasks as required by the Finishing Manager.
• To help to achieve team and individual targets as set by the Finishing Manager.
• Good time keeping and attendance.
• Maintain a tidy and clean work area ensuring that the work area is kept in a clean and orderly manner.
• Understand and adhere to the company policies and procedures with particular emphasis on quality and health and safety.
• To be willing and able to work overtime at relatively short notice and to cover holidays and sickness as and when required.

Background / Experience: A successful proven record and experience of all aspects of Print Finishing gained within a print production or print finishing environment with the knowledge to expertly operate all mentioned machinery or equivalent.

Skills / Abilities:

• Good verbal, written communication and effective listening skills
• Must have experience to set, operate and maintain polar guillotines, Duplo booklet makers, Horizon binders and komfi and foliant laminators (or similar equivalent machinery)
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions, attention to detail
• Able to generate innovative and effective solutions to meet the customer requirements
• Able to cope with multiple projects at one time
• Ability to analyse relevant information to make quality decisions
• Must be methodical with the customer requirements
• Team player, able and willing to assist other members of the team
• Flexible and able to cope under pressure and demonstrate a level of emotional control and resilience
• Able to maintain good disciplines and standards, initiative and drive
• Understanding of commercial issues surrounding jobs
• Able to ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate

Salary:

Starting salary of £33,000pa + overtime available.

The hours are Monday – Friday with a rotating shift.

Week 1 - 7.00am–3.00pm

Week 2 - 11.30am to 19.30pm
