Furniture Fitter / Assembler

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client based in Silvertown (London, E16). They are looking for experienced Furniture Fitter / Assemblers to join their busy, professional team.

All fitters are required to have their own tools so you should also possess some basic tools, such as screwdrivers, drills, allen keys etc, you will be assisting their customers with commercial and domestic relocations of furniture and office suites.

Main duties, but not limited to;

  • Assist with safe loading and unloading of vehicle, will be some heavy lifting involved
  • Safely moving furniture on site as required
  • Assembly and installation of furniture in their customers properties
  • Unassemble and removal of old items on a ‘like-for-like’ basis
  • Always keeping a high standard of tidiness
  • Being friendly and helpful with customers, colleagues and the management team
  • Working safely and efficiently to deadlines
  • Following site instructions and health & safety requirements

Candidate criteria:

  • Previous hands-on furniture or assembly experience, a minimum of one years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrate a good level of English
  • Great customer service as you can be interacting with clients, demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude
  • Committed with good teamwork and reliability
  • Good time management skills
  • Set of own basic tools with the ability to use safely and correctly
  • Be physically fit
  • Must be able to provide checkable employment references

Shift:

Hours can vary as some days will be busier than others so being flexible is a must for this role, shift times run all day long and can have start times from 6am up till 2pm (9 hour shift). This company operates 7 days a week so working 5 out of 7 days can include weekend working.

Hourly pay rate £12.50, enhanced pay if over basic shift hours worked and for weekend work.

Company uniform must be worn for all shifts attended

DBS may be undertaken for you to permit working at certain sites
