Our client based in Erith is seeking experienced Goods-In Warehouse Operative to join them on an ongoing basis.
Picking orders in chilled environment, including shrink wrapping contents onto pallets, and loads them on trucks for delivery while orders are accurate and records on inventory are kept up to date for a smooth flow in warehouse operations. Covering goods in team leader during periods of absence.
You will also be trained in use of Reach Truck and Counterbalance Forklift unless you already have an experience and certificates.
Main Duties
- Picking individual customer orders and palletising, ensuring that orders are accurate
- Shrink wrapping products to pallets
- Operating handling equipment and ensuring safety regulations are followed
- Stock rotation procedures being followed
- Ensuring warehouse goals are met
- Maintaining a high level of health and safety standards
- Loading delivery vehicles
- Packing sample orders as necessary
- Performing other general warehouse duties as needed
- Housekeeping of the yard and external loading areas
- General housekeeping of chiller
- Overseeing good in/out and storage areas
- Weekly stock taking
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead and cooperate with the production team to ensure daily plans are completed
- Liaise with line leaders to ensure deadlines/targets are met
- Overseeing goods in/out and storage areas
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a warehouse
- Reach Truck and/or Counterbalance Forklift experience and licences are advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to stay on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment
- Ability to wok in a chilled area
Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 7am – till finish
Salary: £11-£11.50 depending on experience
