We have an exciting new opportunity to work as a Support the food Technical function to ensure food manufactured is safe, legal and of the quality required by completion of necessary supplier’s databases, replying to customer requests, writing specifications, assisting in Technical investigations and other ad hoc reports and projects. In a busy food production company based in Barking. We are looking for energetic, experienced person to strengthen their friendly team.

Functional Responsibilities:

· Manage supplier databases and portals to ensure all information is up to date at all times

· Maintain product specifications internally and for customers

• Working closely with the Supply team to approve new suppliers and raw materials
• Working closely with the New Product Development and Sales team on the development and approval of new products

· Respond appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner to all customer requests and complaints

· Assist with preparation for audits, and completion of corrective actions

· Support Technical Manager with investigations

· Maintain the document control system

· Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System

· Liaise with our suppliers to ensure our information about their products are kept up-to-date

· Support Technical Manager with internal audits, traceability exercises, etc

· Deputise for other members of the department during holidays in tasks such as start-up checks, weight checks, metal detector checks, chemical dosing and checks, etc.

· Maintain internal recipe database and ensure all connected paperwork is maintained to correlate

· Support in staff trainings, briefings and Technical inductions

· Maintain internal allergen and nutritional database

· Complete projects set by the Technical Manager

Measures and KPIs:

· Customers complaint responses and requests completed accurately and in a timely manner

· Raw materials, suppliers, specifications, allergen and other databases accurately maintained at all times

· Technical sign off for NPD and specifications created on time

· Completing tasks within agreed timescales

· Excellent communication skills at all levels (from operative level to senior management level).

· Ability to prioritise tasks, effective planner, attention to detail, multitask, meeting deadlines.

· Assertive, proactive with good project management and administration skills.

Qualifications:

· Higher education qualification (preferably food / science based)

· Food safety level 2

· HACCP level 2

· Quality Management Systems

· HACCP knowledge

· Food Safety knowledge

· Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
