Trainee Yoghurt Maker

Our client based in Erith is seeking Trainee Yoghurt Maker to join them on an ongoing basis.

Purpose of the job is making yoghurt day to day and loading ingredients into industrial cooking vessels. Responsible for monitoring the machinery during the cooking and mixing process ensuring Food safety & product quality standards are being met. Ensuring food hygiene regulations are met and keeping neat & tidy workspace. Ensuring yoghurt is prepared within agreed timeframes in-line with Production timeframes. All necessary training will be provided.

Main Duties

  • Load raw ingredients into the cooking vessel and measure the mount needed by following company recipes and industry standards.
  • Comprehend written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products.
  • Remove the finished product from the production vessels and push batches to the next step of the process for packing.
  • Verify that each finished batch meets the quality standards of the company by organoleptic testing & checking PH value & consistency.
  • Follow company cleaning procedure to ensure all cooking systems are cleaned daily with appropriate chemical.
  • Sanitize all materials and machinery parts at the end of each shift and clean the workspace at the worker station by following company cleanliness standards.
  • Load flavours into tank for mixing various flavours following company recipes.
  • Heavy lifting of raw materials/ingredients.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Food safety certificate
  • Food production experience/process control
  • Ability to follow all appropriate food safety standards in production.
  • Excellent personal hygiene standards
  • Experience in handling chemicals
  • Manual handling experience
  • Food safety trained.

Shifts:

For the training period the shift will be Monday to Thursday with 6.30am/7am start and work until finish (usually around 4/5pm but can be later). Once trained, you will move to regular shift pattern of working between Friday to Tuesday, 12hrs shift. There is no set shift pattern. It will be discussed during the interview.

Salary: £10.76 - £14, negotiable depending on experience. Once fully trained and able to operate solely will increase to £14ph with an overtime after 40hrs worked paid at x 1.5 - £17.50
